Nana Lou's Postcards

0 GBP / Out of stock.

Postcards sent to a two year old from her father whilst he was 'somewhere in France' during the First World War. This is a document of reportage and propaganda postcards of WW1 but it also shows how detached fathers were, and had to be, whilst at war. The gaps in between words, sentences and dates show the trauma and loss experienced by the sender and his family. There is an unspoken narrative throughout.

This was made on request of Nana Lou's grandchildren. Michelle Abadie scanned the chosen postcards, designed and printed the book, and bound 5 copies for the family and 1 copy for the Imperial War Museum, London.
